Senior Residential Support Worker - 3-Bed EBD Children’s Home - SolihullPay Rate: £13.79 - £14.69 per hourSleep-In Rate: £60 per sleepHours: 160 per month, including long days and 6-8 sleep-ins

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker for their 3-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children’s home based in Solihull. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their residential childcare career and play a key leadership role in a well-run and supportive service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supervision sessions with staff to support development and performance
  • Develop action plans to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) where needed
  • Complete monthly audits to ensure compliance and drive operational standards
  • Maintain and regularly review all Young Person (YP) care plans
  • Monitor YP sessions to ensure quality and consistency
  • Ensure all required documentation is in place in YP folders and follow up with professionals as needed
  • Delegate tasks effectively to junior staff on shift and ensure completion
  • Attend and contribute to senior team meetings
  • Manage petty cash and ensure budget compliance
  • Oversee the completion of accurate and timely weekly reports
  • Support completion of all daily tasks and maintain smooth running of the shift
  • Lead by example, promote best practices, and maintain a positive working environment
  • Ensure Children in Care (CIC) reports are initiated and completed with the key team
  • Mentor junior staff and support their professional development
  • Review outstanding tasks and ensure they are finalised
  • Ensure YP risk assessments are reviewed, updated, and acknowledged by staff

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare support role
  • Working towards (or holding) a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable children and promoting their welfare
