Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting for our public sector client who are seeking a Bereavement Administrator to support their busy Bereavement Officer. The role is to be Yardley based and will last till approximately March next year. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm with on site parking. The hourly rate for the role will also increase after 13 weeks to 14.32.

Please note a driving licence is needed for this role- please only apply if you have a full UK driving licence.

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Providing support to the Bereavement Officer and Registrar in connection with the general site administration, the booking and organisation of funerals and any appropriate statutory requirements on a day to day basis utilising appropriate computerised systems.
  • Deputising for the Bereavement Officer, if ever they are absent.
  • Ensuring the Office is open to service users throughout the working day.
  • Supporting the provision of efficient, discreet and personal funeral services.
  • Weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required to work any 5 days in 7 on a rotational basis to support operational requirements at Handsworth or other cemeteries / crematoria operating a weekend/ Bank Holiday Service.

Candidates welcome to apply for the role will have the following:

  • Excellent customer service experience (face to face and telephone)
  • Administration and customer service experience is essential
  • Funeral or bereavement experience is preferred but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility with hours
