Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council are looking to recruit an experienced Social worker to join their Hospital/HPDT Team.
Your new role
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social worker who has proven experience in the Hospital/HPDT Team.
The role entails completing visits in the community. Therefore, it will require candidates to be able to be able to travel in between community visit settings who have substantial post-qualifying experience in Adult Social Work Services.
Solihull Council are looking to recruit social workers who can complete long-term assessments and discharges for individuals who are on discharge to assess pathways.
- Experience of safeguarding, complex case management and meeting and working within pressurised timescales.
- Experience of managing positive risk taking and making decisions.
- Experience of multi-agency working.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation including: Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 (inc. DoLS), MHA 1983, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex and sensitive information both verbally and in writing, including effective report writing
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to respond positively to challenging situations
Up to 28.40 PAYE Premium (24.79 PAYE Basic) or Umbrella to the candidate, at the discretion of the hiring manager after interview. This is dependent on experience. The maximum pay rate is 28.40 due to the MOC capped rates.
The role is to start asap, working 37 hrs per week at the Solihull Council House Complex.
What you'll need to succeed
Have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/B.Sc. in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) Social Work England registration 2 years post-permanent qualifying experience.Previous experience working within Social Work adults servicesStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Flexibility to travel as required.
