Your new companySolihull Council are looking to appoint 2 qualified Social workers (full-time) to join their Preparing for Adulthood & Exploitation, formerly known as the Transitions Team. This is an exciting time for Solihull Metropolitan council, which are striving for positive outcomes for children, young people and their families through early intervention and support.Your new roleAs a Social Worker in Preparing for Adulthood & Exploitation, your main duties will include: Completing Care Act Assessments, in readiness for a young person's 18th birthday. Completing support plans and reviews, in line with the Care Act (2014). Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments, in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005). Completing Continuing Health Care (CHC) checklists and attending Decision Support Tool (DST) meetings. Being a lead investigator for safeguarding enquiries. Working in a strengths-based way, being creative with budgets and the use of direct payments.You will work within an established team with an experienced permanent manager and will receive consistent monthly supervision.This is an essential car user role.

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this position you need:

  • Must have 3 years' post-qualification experience as a Childrens Social Worker and hold a Social work qualification in either BA Social work, CQSW, DipSW, CCS or CCETSW.
  • Preferable experience in a transition team
  • Must have completed ASYE
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Car Driver
