Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 + Overtime
Hours: Full-time | Call-out rota 1 week in 3
We're recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Somerset, supporting a wide range of industrial and commercial clients across the South West.
This is a varied, field-based position involving servicing, repairs, installations, and breakdown support for a range of electromechanical systems, ideal for a multi-skilled engineer who enjoys solving technical problems on-site and working directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out site visits to complete servicing, repairs, installations, and reactive maintenance
Complete all associated documentation, including risk assessments, service reports, and timesheets
Work safely at all times, following company and site Health & Safety procedures
Participate in the on-call rota (1 week in 3) and support emergency breakdowns
Liaise closely with the Site Service Supervisor to ensure efficient scheduling and high-quality customer service
Skills & Experience Required
Proven background as a field service engineer, ideally within an industrial or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of electric motors, gearboxes, and pumps (essential)
Understanding of three-phase electrical systems and inverters
Drives and controls experience essential; PLC knowledge advantageous
Experience with generators and confined space training desirable
Mechanically and electrically competent, with strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
Full UK driving licence required

Salary 35,000 - 40,000 (DOE)
