Location: Devon (Office-Based)

Duration: 3 to 6 Months

Company Overview

Our client is a reputable main contractor based in Devon, specialising in planned maintenance and retrofit works within the social housing sector. With a strong pipeline of works across kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, roofing, and energy efficiency upgrades, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team.

 

Role Overview

The successful candidate will assist with the commercial management of multiple social housing maintenance projects. You will report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and collaborate with an existing QS and Commercial Administrator team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process sub-contractor applications and payments

     

  • Prepare and update valuation reports

     

  • Identify, price, and manage variations

     

  • Support with cost tracking and forecasting

     

  • Maintain accurate records and contractual documentation

     

  • Liaise with the site team, supply chain, and commercial staff

     

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within the social housing or property maintenance sector

     

  • Strong knowledge of sub-contract management and valuations

     

  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team

     

  • Comfortable working in an office-based role (Devon)

     

  • Immediate or short notice availability preferred
