Teacher of Media - Overview

Our highly successful secondary school in the London Borough of Croydon is seeking a Teacher of Media to join their team from January 2024 (start date negotiable). This role is available on a full-time, permanent basis, with the Outer London Pay Scale and the potential for a TLR for suitable candidates.

 

The school is consistently oversubscribed and enjoys an excellent reputation for academic achievement and pastoral care. Candidates should be able to teach Media across the age and ability range up to KS5, demonstrating strong teaching strategies and organisational skills. Applications are welcome from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.

The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in vocational education at Level 2 and Level 3 and be committed to supporting learners across Key Stages 4 and 5. Opportunities for additional responsibility are available, including roles within pastoral support and enrichment activities.

 

Teacher of Media - Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated Media Studies curriculum
  • Inspire and support student progress and development across KS4 and KS5
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Act as a form tutor and contribute to the pastoral care of students
