This unique Lead Practitioner of Science role provides the successful candidate with considerable scope to shape the delivery of the science curriculum, whilst also being a part of a supportive and experienced department. The overarching purpose of the role of Lead Practitioner of Science will be to consistently model high quality teaching and learning in the teaching of science at KS3, KS4 and KS5, whilst also supporting as a member of the department.

The ideal candidate for Lead Practitioner of Science - Leadership Pay Scale will have:
- Must have UK QTS!
- Experience of leading, coaching and managing staff
- Experience of raising attainment in a leadership role
- Evidence of consistently improving overall teaching and learning
- Evidence of leading and or teaching KS5 is desirable
- Experience of providing professional development to teachers, including coaching, mentoring and training
- Experience of supporting students of all ages and abilities to make progress and achieve impressive exam results
- Able to teach and lead Science across the Key Stages and will be committed to raising standards

- To develop and improve the practice of teachers, keeping them inspired to provide the best possible education for students
- Observe staff and provide high quality feedback that encourages improvement
- To develop and support effective planning for schemes of learning
- Act as a role model to staff and pupils
- Providing constant support to the Science Department
- Must be committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
