SEND Teaching Assistant – Inclusion Resource & 1:1 Support
Location: South Elmsall, Pontefract

PK Education are working with a specialist primary inclusion resource in South Elmsall (Pontefract) to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a wide range of needs in both the dedicated resource base and the mainstream school environment.
About the role:
- Supporting primary-aged pupils (EYFS – Upper KS2) with a variety of additional needs
- Working within the specialist SEN resource and on a 1:1 basis in mainstream classrooms
- Supporting children with profound SEND, communication and interaction difficulties, and some SEMH needs
- Assisting pupils with daily learning, social development, and communication strategies
- Managing challenging situations calmly – some pupils may display reactive or physical behaviours
- Building strong relationships with teachers, parents, and external specialists to support inclusion
About you:
- MUST have prior experience working with SEND pupils or individuals with complex needs in a similar sector
- Experience with communication and interaction difficulties and/or SEMH highly desirable
- TEAM TEACH or equivalent training is highly beneficial
- Patient, resilient, and able to adapt support to meet varied and complex needs
- Flexible and committed, with a genuine passion for supporting inclusion and pupil progress
