* Monitor all processing operations primarily the aggregate process, continuously looking for any areas that can be improved. * Ensure all processed material is within quality specifications and that the Aggregate Plant is producing to the correct set up procedures in line with the required production schedules or instructions.
* Ensure the aggregate plant is always run to maximum efficiency and optimum output rates are achieved. Any areas that are not meeting KPI targets should be focused on, and issues identified, or areas of improvement and possible solutions documented and reported in a timely and effective manner.
* Ensure that the aggregate plant downtime is kept to a minimum and any issues reported. Any Downtime issues once resolved should be investigated to see how future losses can be avoided and findings or solutions reported to all concerned to prevent future lost time occurrence for the same reason.
* Promote and maintain a safe working environment and manage all areas of Health & Safety on site. * Give toolbox talks as required by the various departments of the Business. * Make sure that effective handovers are carried out with the shift supervisors, informing them of any variances and the continued production plan of the aggregate process.
* Carry out Health, Safety & Environmental inspections as required. * Assist in creating any production schedules and ensure that they are Adhere to, making sure that any variations to schedule are communicated in an effective and timely manner.
* Ensure housekeeping standards and safe working practices are always kept to the highest standards. * Manage, motivate and build an effective team (Site). Areas of improvements should be identified, and coaching / Training plans agreed with individual employees and line managers.
* Carry out regular checks throughout the shift on plant m/c’s, running speeds/flow rates, personnel, processed product, waste streams and safety. Any issues found should be acted upon and reported accordingly. * Look to Continuously Improve all areas of production, plant and procedures.
* Make sure any parts used are booked out and reported in the correct manner prior to leaving site at the end of every day. * Make sure all internal waste streams are monitored and recorded accurately as required throughout the shift. * Manage the sites stock of PPE and make sure all members are wearing and using the company requirements and that it is fit for purpose.
* Make sure you have the correct PPE for any given tasks, that it is in an appropriate condition, and it is being worn correctly. * Operate the company FLT as required.
* Carry out any other quality tests as required. * Carry out any other duties as required by business needs that are within your capabilities. * To assist Maintenance during plant downtimes making sure you are either supervised or fully conversant with the task requirements and safety needs.The Site Supervisor * A good knowledge of health and safety practices * Hold an IOSH managing safely certificate – Advantageous * Hold a First Aiders certificate * Hold a Fire Awareness certificate * Hold a current FLT license * Ability to work well under pressure.
