High Volume Press Setter

Location: South Shields
Pay: £12.52 per hour (rising to £12.87 after probation)
Hours:

• Mon–Wed: 07:00 – 17:00
• Thurs: 07:00 – 16:30
  Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for a Press Operator to join a high-volume manufacturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles are at the heart of operations.

The Role

• Set up and operate presses efficiently and safely.
• Ensure production targets are met or exceeded.
• Read and interpret job sheets, drawings, and related documentation.
• Use measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and drop clocks.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with Health & Safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for process enhancements.
• Work flexibly within the High Volume Cell and other departments as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a similar manufacturing role.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
