Maintenance Engineer - Food Manufacturing
Location: SouthallSalary: £50,000 - £56,000Hours: Monday to Saturday, 2pm - 10pm
We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join one of the UK's leading food manufacturing companies. This business supplies a wide range of high-quality products to both the retail and foodservice sectors and is committed to maintaining excellence across its production operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a fast-paced, hands-on role where you'll be essential in keeping production moving, minimising downtime, and ensuring machinery runs at peak efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering effective engineering support to maintain continuous operation of plant and equipment
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and carrying out fault diagnosis for first-time fixes
- Maintaining a range of equipment, including conveyor belts, ceiling machines, filling machines, depositors, metal detectors, steam cookers, and mixers
- Identifying opportunities to improve engineering processes and recommending changes
- Performing autonomous and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is fully documented
- Carrying out scheduled inspections to prevent contamination risks due to equipment damage
- Working with key machinery such as flow wrappers, gearboxes, and pumps

What We're Looking For
- Strong experience as a Maintenance Engineer in the food manufacturing or FMCG sector
- Full qualification with 18th Edition certification
- Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems and confidence in reading electrical diagrams
- Skilled in using electrical and hand tools effectively
- Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and critical thinking abilities
- Experience in maintaining and testing electrical systems in a production setting
- A clear understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
