Maintenance Engineer - Food Manufacturing

We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join one of the UK's leading food manufacturing companies. This business supplies a wide range of high-quality products to both the retail and foodservice sectors and is committed to maintaining excellence across its production operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a fast-paced, hands-on role where you'll be essential in keeping production moving, minimising downtime, and ensuring machinery runs at peak efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering effective engineering support to maintain continuous operation of plant and equipment
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns and carrying out fault diagnosis for first-time fixes
  • Maintaining a range of equipment, including conveyor belts, ceiling machines, filling machines, depositors, metal detectors, steam cookers, and mixers
  • Identifying opportunities to improve engineering processes and recommending changes
  • Performing autonomous and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is fully documented
  • Carrying out scheduled inspections to prevent contamination risks due to equipment damage
  • Working with key machinery such as flow wrappers, gearboxes, and pumps

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience as a Maintenance Engineer in the food manufacturing or FMCG sector
  • Full qualification with 18th Edition certification
  • Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems and confidence in reading electrical diagrams
  • Skilled in using electrical and hand tools effectively
  • Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and critical thinking abilities
  • Experience in maintaining and testing electrical systems in a production setting
  • A clear understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
