Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer - Food Manufacturing

We are looking for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join one of the UK's leading food manufacturing companies, supplying a wide range of products to both retailers and the foodservice sector.

OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTSShift Pattern: Monday - Saturday, 2pm - 10pmCompetitive Salary: £56,000

THE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER ROLE

  • Provide high-quality engineering support to ensure continuous operation of plant and equipment
  • Respond rapidly to breakdowns and carry out effective fault diagnosis for first-time fixes
  • Maintain a variety of equipment including office, control, and factory machinery such as conveyor belts, ceiling machines, filling machines, depositors, metal detectors, steam cookers, and mixers
  • Identify and recommend improvements in line engineering processes
  • Carry out autonomous and preventative maintenance tasks accurately, ensuring all work is properly documented
  • Perform scheduled equipment inspections to prevent contamination risks from equipment damage
  • Work with flow wrappers, gearboxes, pumps, and other key manufacturing machinery

THE IDEAL CANDIDATEYou'll have strong experience as an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer in the food manufacturing sector, along with the following:

  • Fully qualified with 18th Edition certification
  • Proven electrical engineering experience in the food/FMCG sector
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and ability to read and work from electrical drawings
  • Skilled in using both electrical and hand tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to perform routine testing and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
  • Solid understanding of Food Safety and Hygiene policies
