Horizon Teachers are offering an exciting opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work as part of an expanding group of schools, where your energy and experience will be valued and you will enjoy a high degree of job satisfaction.

Your role will be aimed at meeting the varied needs of our students as you will have the opportunity to apply your skills to working with students in key stage 2, 3, 4 and further education.

SEN Teaching Assistant duties and responsibilities:
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • To be willing to support playground/break time supervision e.ge educational games, homework clubs etc
  • Read and understand lesson plans to support the preparation of the classroom
  • Communicate effectively with other staff members and pupils, and with parents and carers under the direction of the class teacher
  • Be mindful and empathetic towards vulnerable children, preserving their dignity and administering personal care when required
  • Participate in risk assessment for individual pupils, groups and for activities (indoor and outdoor)
