Sheridan Maine are excited to be partnering with a dynamic organisation based in Southampton who are are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee the finance function and a small team of assistants.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to take on a new challenge, or for an ambitious Finance Manager to take the next step in their career.The key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Managing the end-to-end accounting function for the business
  • Overseeing the payroll and credit control processes
  • Producing statutory reports and submitting accounts
  • Developing and mentoring a small finance team, providing training when required
  • Playing a key role in producing analysis and commentary for all business reports in a timely manner
  • Being a strong team player and supporting the Finance Director, completing adhoc duties as required
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE with strong relevant experience
  • Proven management and leadership experience
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with finance and non-finance individuals
  • Advanced Excel and systems skills
  • Experience overseeing transactional finance and payroll
