Financial Controller sought for a growing Small Entity on the outskirts of Southampton.

This role will involve you heading up the entire day-to-day Finance function working closely with the MD and Operations Director.

The accounts will all be headed up to the Group Finance function.

Looking for a Finance Professional with a hands-on approach

Ideally ACCA or CIMA qualified or Qualified by Experience

(soon to be Qualify Accountants with strong experience will also be considered.)

Knowledge of the updated regulatory reporting and compliance for a company under the new £15mill bandings and understanding of the knock-on effect on reporting requirements.

Financial Controller responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for monthly and annual closing activity
  • Financial control and responsibility for stock management
  • Production of accurate management accounts every month
  • Accurate reporting and interpretation for Directors.
  • Cash-flow management
  • Managing year-end audit and tax compliance
  • Production of accurate Income Statement and Balance Sheet to Auditors every year – no audit issues highlighted
  • Monthly and annual financial statements
  • Monitor and Manage property lease costs
  • Other required financial reporting if so required by Group.
  • Ensure payroll is accurate and all team members are paid correctly
  • Ensure the Company is trading legally in terms of finance and legal requirements

This hands-on role will review and ensure all financial systems are fit for purpose and assess and reduce the company’s exposure to financial risk. You will need to involve and ensure a good working relationship with the Group Finance Director.
