Role Overview:
The role involves managing a range of intricate tasks tied to marine and interior outfit project execution, from the initial handover to on-site delivery and final project closure. The successful candidate will support larger projects and take the lead on smaller assignments. Collaboration across various internal departments will be essential to ensure all tasks align with the overall project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Take charge of global on-site project delivery in partnership with the assigned Project Manager.
Scope Ownership: Develop a thorough understanding of project scopes and oversee assigned tasks or projects following proper approvals.
Resource Planning: Work with relevant stakeholders, upon approval, to organize procurement of materials, supply chains, and resources.
Meeting Participation: Assist the Project Manager during project meetings, including initial setup, progress reviews, and final debriefings.
Budget Input: Provide input on estimated allowances for various project aspects to support budget planning.
Resource Monitoring: Regularly evaluate labor and resource deployment on-site, recommending adjustments as needed in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Safety Compliance: Support adherence to health and safety protocols, ensuring team members use appropriate personal protective equipment and workwear.
Project Delivery: Where required, take responsibility for overseeing projects to ensure they meet deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.
Additional Duties: Complete any other tasks as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Expertise:
Knowledge in:
Marine industries such as Cruise, Ferry, Defence, and Superyacht sectors.
Multidisciplinary interior outfit environments.
Proficiency in:
Planning and executing outfit projects aboard marine vessels.
Utilizing Microsoft applications like Excel, Word, and Project.
Time management, prioritization, and effective communication.
Maintaining a detail-oriented, results-driven approach to work.
Capabilities to:
Adopt a proactive attitude and collaborate within a close-knit team, contributing to the company's ethos of delivering high-quality, end-to-end project solutions.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
Use surveying tools to accurately assess material needs.
Additional Expectations:
Employ problem-solving, analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills for the benefit of the organization.
Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, maintaining professionalism when interacting with staff, management, and suppliers.
Demonstrate at least 10 years of relevant experience in marine or land-based interior outfit sectors.
Be willing to travel globally for varying durations and occasionally at short notice to meet project demands.
Qualifications and Training:
Proven experience managing large teams of skilled tradespeople.
Legal authorization to live and work in the UK.
Commitment to global travel for project oversight and surveys.
Safety Obligations:
Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel and adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Report and record any accidents, incidents, or near misses promptly and accurately.
Comply with company policies regarding substance misuse, drug and alcohol testing, and health standards.
