About the Role

We're looking for a multi-skilled Site Services Engineer to join a well-established industrial engineering team in Southampton. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity to work across a wide variety of mechanical rotating equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and fan units - both on-site at customer facilities and in-house at a fully equipped workshop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of industrial rotating equipment (AC/DC motors, gearboxes, pumps, fans, etc.)
  • Conduct fault-finding and component assessment (mechanical and basic electrical testing)
  • Carry out site visits for repairs, servicing, and maintenance
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements (SSW & RAMS)
  • Support innovation and continuous improvement across operations

About You

  • Experienced with rotating industrial equipment
  • Comfortable working in both workshop and customer site environments
  • Mechanically skilled, with basic electrical knowledge (testing, fault-finding)
  • Excellent understanding of health & safety best practices
  • Flexible with working hours and participation in a call-out rota
  • Strong communication skills and technical understanding
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent industry/time-served experience)
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent (essential)
  • Desirable: Water Hygiene Passport and Thames Water training (training can be provided)

Working Hours

  • Monday-Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Friday: 7:00am - 2:30pm
  • 39 hours/week (includes 15-minute paid break)
