Product Compliance Specialist - SDS & Chemical Regulations

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Compliance Specialist to join a leading global company (BAT) and play a vital role in ensuring compliance across an innovative product portfolio, including nicotine, e-liquids, and oral pouches.

In this role, you'll lead the creation and management of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and ensure chemical compliance in line with global regulations. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to process improvements, and help drive regulatory excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, review, and maintain SDSs to meet global regulatory standards

  • Manage chemical compliance activities across the product lifecycle

  • Collaborate with Product Development, Quality, and Marketing to collect and validate regulatory data

  • Provide technical support on chemical legislation and SDS requirements

  • Supervise 2-3 SDS authors, ensuring high-quality output and timely delivery

  • Drive improvements in compliance processes and documentation standards

  • Train and mentor team members on SOPs, regulatory updates, and best practices

What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline (MSc preferred)

  • Solid understanding of chemical regulations (REACH, CLP, GHS, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with SDS authoring - VERISK 3E knowledge is a bonus

  • Strong analytical and data accuracy skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment

Nice to Have
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry or product compliance role

  • Membership in a professional chemical or EH&S institution

  • Proficiency with Excel and document management systems
