An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly capable Financial Director to join a busy manufacturing business based in Southampton.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a key role responsible for driving financial performance, managing reporting processes, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Experience in a transformational finance role would be beneficial. Strong leadership and organisational skills are essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make a significant impact on financial control and overall business direction, while leading and guiding a team to success.

Please note this role is fully office based.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Analysis of financial performance including variance analysis on invoicing, gross margin, and cash flow
  • Support with strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies
  • Oversee the audit process and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide financial insights for long-term investment planning and performance monitoring
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial systems and reporting processes
  • Lead and develop a small finance team

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong background in financial control, reporting, and consolidations
  • Proven experience in variance analysis and commercial reporting
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and regulatory compliance
  • Confident communicator with excellent analytical skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
