Role Profile: Trust Technical Manager

Location: Bristol or Fareham (near Southampton); hybrid working

Contract: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week)

Salary: £50,000-£55,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)

Role Summary

  • You will need to be a confident self-starter, who is comfortable to work hands-on and as part of an expanding team, who has previous experience of similar trust case management.
  • You will lead, guide and develop a team of trust case managers, ensuring they are managing their trust cases to appropriate high standards.
  • You will be responsible for the overall management and oversight of all aspects of family trusts, in addition to supporting and encouraging other team members who are developing their trust skills.
  • Adhering to high standards of client service is critical for this role.

Duties and responsibilities will include

  • Take over, successfully manage and oversee a portfolio of existing trusts for clients providing excellent service
  • Ensure that your trust cases are managed efficiently and effectively, optimising how they are supported by the wider trust team
  • Oversight of case manager cases, ensuring administration of such cases are to a high standard
  • Preparing and delivering appropriate technical training, both individual and team level
  • Understanding of Regulatory requirements
  • Support and lead (where needed) Technical business projects
  • Support wider business with team participation where needed
  • Provide specialist trust knowledge and guidance to both your team and other colleagues where you have specific insight
  • Responsibility for compliance and risk management for cases in your team
  • Ensure all appropriate policies and procedures are followed for all trust matters and organisational matters. Comply with such policies and procedures and work with other managers to develop these to ensure that the business operates effectively and adheres to legislation
  • Operate as part of the Ludlow case management team to operate and develop the business, supporting your team colleagues as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain a culture based on high performance
  • Any other tasks as may be required from time to time

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Teamwork and Leadership skills
  • Decision making
  • Relevant Law degree/STEP qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience of managing trusts in a similar business with strong trust knowledge
  • Knowledge of the taxation of UK trusts
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to forge close working relationships with clients and internal work colleagues at both board and managerial level

  • Previous trust case management experience
  • Able to work effectively on your own, but also as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
