The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned ecologist to step into a senior role within a dynamic consultancy. The ideal candidate will lead both field-based and office-based projects, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with clients to deliver impactful ecological solutions. You'll be responsible for managing complex projects, conducting high-level ecological assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. The role requires occasional travel and overnight stays.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Substantial experience within ecological consultancy, including project management
  • Degree (BSc/MSc) in ecology, biology, or a related field
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Proficient in IT (Office 365, GIS, cloud systems)
  • Experience with ecological impact assessments, protected species surveys, and mitigation
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM), ideally at Associate or Full Member level
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, and conduct seasonal surveys
  • A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of ecological work
