C++ Software Engineer required by a successful software company located in Southampton. The company requires a C++ Software Engineer to join a niche internal C++ software engineering team specialising in complex, statistical C++ software programming.

Hybrid working - 2 days per week in the Southampton office. Flexible working hours.

The successful C++ Software Engineer will likely have a relevant degree in Mathematics, Physics or similar and will have proven commercial experience with C++ programming with a statistical or mathematical bias.

The successful C++ Software Engineer will be tasked with understanding complex mathematical and statistical research papers and then implementing those algorithms in code in a scalable fashion.

Key experience

  • C++ programming on Windows and/or Linux
  • Mathematical algorithms eg statistical / machine learning / econometric time series

Any of the following would be advantageous

  • PhD in Maths or similar subject
  • Experience in both research and commercial software environments
  • MATLAB
  • R
  • Python
