Cover Supervisor

Reeson Education is currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Totton area. This particular role is based at a well-regarded school with a strong community ethos and a commitment to professional development.

In addition to this vacancy, we also work with a number of other schools across Hampshire and the surrounding areas, offering a range of Cover Supervisor opportunities for both short-term and long-term placements.

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a small but dedicated team supporting teaching staff across the school.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher
• Ensure students remain on task and complete the work set
• Maintain a calm and productive classroom environment
• Liaise with teaching staff and the school office to ensure smooth lesson delivery
• Support students across a range of subjects and year groups

This Cover Supervisor role is ideal for someone considering a career in teaching, particularly those looking to gain experience before applying for a PGCE or SCITT. It may also suit someone with an interest in PE, although the role is not limited to this subject.

• Be confident working independently in a classroom setting
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to explain instructions clearly
• Be flexible, reliable, and well-organised
• Be educated to GCSE level in English and Maths
• Be keen to learn and develop professionally
• Have previous experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential)
