Role: Senior/Principal Safety Engineer
Location: Southampton(3 days remote, 2 days onsite)
Duration: 6 months
Inside IR35: Umbrella
About our Client:
Our client is a leading UK-based defence and security company, supporting government and commercial partners through advanced research, technology development, and specialist services. They play a key role in enhancing national security, innovation, and operational capability across critical domains.
Key responsibilities:
- Advice to customer with safety management arrangements for defence land based systems.
- compliance with Def Stan 00-056, 00-055, 61508, POSMS
- Chair Hazard workshops
- Hazard log
- Identification of derived safety requirements
- Safety argument for a computer based system, software and data integrity
- Safety and Environmental Case report
- Safety and Environmental Management plan (updates)
- working within our client's team of other SMEs
- reach back to software safety assurance expertise
- Agile lifecycle -experience of collaborative working in multi discipline teams
Experience required:
- Need to be self-starter work on own initiative confident interacting with customers.
- Ability to lead workshops and safety discussions.
- Sufficient experience of 61508.
- Agile methods
- Cloud based systems.
- Principles of data safety.
