About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools across the Southampton and Hampshire area working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in supporting students who require additional help to thrive both academically and emotionally. You'll play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and skills for life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH needs

  • Support students in managing their emotions, behaviour, and engagement with learning

  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to implement individual learning plans (ILPs)

  • Encourage positive relationships and help students build their social skills

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging, inclusive activities

  • Contribute to the wellbeing and safeguarding of all pupils

About You:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable

  • Calm, empathetic, and patient approach

  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome challenges

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, or equivalent) are beneficial but not essential
