CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with a growing engineering organisation based in Southampton, Hampshire to recruit an HR Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role sits within a supportive and progressive HR team and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, international business that places strong emphasis on its people agenda. This is an ideal opportunity for an HR professional seeking to gain broad generalist experience within a global environment while contributing to key HR initiatives across the UK business.What will the HR Advisor role involve?

  • As the HR Advisor, support end-to-end recruitment processes, liaising with hiring managers to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary, grievance and investigation matters, in line with company policy and UK employment law.
  • Prepare and analyse HR metrics and reports to support data-driven decision making.
  • Coordinate training programmes and support the development of learning materials for both in-person and digital delivery.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records including WTD and absence reporting; assist with monthly payroll checks.
  • Support cyclical HR activities such as salary reviews, engagement surveys and talent assessments.
  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support and act as first point of contact for HR-related queries.

Suitable Candidate for the HR Advisor vacancy:

  • CIPD qualified or part-qualified (Level 5 desirable) with previous experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and confident handling of employee relations cases.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Proficient in using HRIS (Workday) and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented and proactive with a collaborative working style.
