About the role

We have an excellent opportunity for a proven Site Manager to lead a £6m industrial new-build scheme in Southampton. You’ll take responsibility for the entire build lifecycle—driving programme, safety, quality, and coordination across all trades and stakeholders—within a supportive, family-run Tier 2 main contractor.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day site operations from pre-start through handover, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Manage H&S, RAMS, site inductions, permits, and compliance to company and legal standards.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant, logistics, and materials to keep the programme on track.
  • Monitor quality, sequencing, and workmanship across all trades; implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Track progress, report on programme, risks, and costs; chair site meetings and client/professional team briefings.
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative site culture—getting everyone working together toward a safe, high-quality delivery.

About you

  • Strong site management background with thorough knowledge of all stages of the build process.
  • Industrial new-build experience and confidence taking full responsibility for a scheme of comparable scale.
  • Hands-on leadership style with excellent people management and communication skills.
  • Ideally from a trades background, bringing practical know-how to planning and problem-solving.
  • Relevant site management qualifications (e.g., SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid) are advantageous.
