About the Role

Are you looking to kick-start your career in financial services? We're on the lookout for a highly motivated, detail-driven individual to join our growing team as a Loan Assessment Officer.
No experience in underwriting or fraud? No problem. If you're analytical, quick to learn, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, supportive environment - this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Review Loan Applications: Assess applications for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they align with policy requirements.
  • Verify Financial Documents: Review submitted documents, bank statements, and open banking data to calculate income, identify spending patterns, and assess affordability.
  • Speak with Customers: Contact applicants by phone to request additional details or clarify application data - strong communication skills are essential.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support: Spend your first few weeks in the Contact Centre to gain insight into the full customer journey and build internal knowledge.

What We're Looking For
Experience & Background:

  • Experience in roles that required accuracy and careful review of information (e.g., admin, operations, finance, compliance)
  • No underwriting or financial background required - full training will be provided
  • Quick learner with a proactive attitude

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and professional communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Honest, reliable, and eager to grow

Preferred Background or Experience:

  • Some experience in roles where reviewing documents or data was required (e.g. admin, compliance, customer service, insurance, or audit roles).
  • Experience working in regulated environments is a bonus but not essential.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week. (1 Saturday per month)
