Close collaboration with manufacturing engineering will be essential as you help introduce new products into production and support their ongoing lifecycle. Clear, accurate documentation and progress reporting will also be part of your responsibilities.
Success in this role calls for a practical, hands-on approach and strong attention to detail. Ideally, you will bring at least three years of experience in an optical or related industry, along with confidence in cleaning and inspecting optical components, performing optomechanical assembly and working comfortably with standard computer applications.
Experience with optical fibre handling, system alignment, test equipment such as beam profilers and power meters, or familiarity with optical surface quality specifications would be a valuable advantage.
A degree, HND or equivalent industry experience in a scientific or engineering discipline is welcome, though practical problem-solving skills and precision are considered more important than academic credentials.
You should enjoy laboratory-based optical work, take pride in producing high-quality results and be comfortable managing your own tasks while working within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
