Are you passionate about protecting vulnerable individuals and bringing offenders to justice? We are seeking a dedicated Police Staff Investigator to join the local police force’s Internet Child Abuse Team (ICAT) based in Netley.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations and gather admissible evidence.
- Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects using appropriate techniques.
- Apply arrest powers and manage custody procedures.
- Assess risk and develop safeguarding plans for victims and witnesses.
- Work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to build strong cases.
- Prepare detailed reports and manage case files in line with legal standards.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns involving children and vulnerable adults.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- PIP1 accreditation with at least 1 year of investigative experience (or equivalent evidence).
- Strong understanding of the criminal justice system and investigative procedures.
- Current police driving authorisation and valid licence.
- Willingness to undergo enhanced vetting and psychological screening.
- Completion of relevant College of Policing courses (e.g., IIOC Grading, Victim ID).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in IT systems and investigative databases.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage complex information.

This is temporary role is for an initial 6 - 9 months, working full-time, paying an initial £16.71 per hour PAYE
