    Are you passionate about protecting vulnerable individuals and bringing offenders to justice? We are seeking a dedicated Police Staff Investigator to join the local police force’s Internet Child Abuse Team (ICAT) based in Netley.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations and gather admissible evidence.
  • Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects using appropriate techniques.
  • Apply arrest powers and manage custody procedures.
  • Assess risk and develop safeguarding plans for victims and witnesses.
  • Work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to build strong cases.
  • Prepare detailed reports and manage case files in line with legal standards.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns involving children and vulnerable adults.
  • What We’re Looking For

    Essential:

  • PIP1 accreditation with at least 1 year of investigative experience (or equivalent evidence).
  • Strong understanding of the criminal justice system and investigative procedures.
  • Current police driving authorisation and valid licence.
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced vetting and psychological screening.
  • Completion of relevant College of Policing courses (e.g., IIOC Grading, Victim ID).
  • Desirable:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and investigative databases.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage complex information.
  • This is temporary role is for an initial 6 - 9 months, working full-time, paying an initial £16.71 per hour PAYE
