Our client, a well-established & successful family-owned freight forwarder in Southampton is looking to recruit a Trainee Port & Logistics Coordinator to join their expanding team. Are you keen to start your career in logistics? Or maybe you have a year or so experience and want to build on what you have learnt to-date and to be more hands on in and around the port and not just office based? If so, then this could be perfect for you. The Role: You will learn to coordinate the cruise logistics functions, ensuring goods are moved to and from the port of call in a timely manner and ensuring complete Customs compliance, cleared into free circulation or under bond which ever is appropriate. You will also learn to manage marine logistics to and from destinations worldwide, by air & sea. Once trained you will be responsible for booking shipments, updating systems, and dealing with shipping paperwork, and above all ensuring a great customer experience. A key part of the role once fully trained will be attending & boarding cruise vessels whilst in Port, which means that some weekend work and unsociable hours will be required during peak cruise season. Driving licence a must. Essential Criteria:
