Quantum Scholars is working with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Southampton that is currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Art and Design Teacher to join their creative faculty from September 2025.

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Art and Design to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

  • Deliver engaging, dynamic, and inclusive lessons that foster creativity, skill development, and an appreciation for visual arts.

  • Develop schemes of work that reflect the national curriculum and integrate contemporary art practices and digital media where appropriate.

  • Support student achievement through high-quality teaching, assessment, and feedback.

  • Contribute to whole-school arts initiatives, exhibitions, enrichment activities, and cross-curricular projects.

  • Use a variety of media, including digital tools, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, to develop students' artistic confidence and technical skills.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE).

  • A degree in Art and Design or a closely related subject.

  • A strong portfolio of teaching experience, ideally within UK secondary schools.

  • Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for art education.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Commitment to inclusive teaching practices, differentiated learning, and continuous professional development.
