Permanent Teacher of Geography (Mainly KS5) - Outstanding Southampton School (Geography Department)
An outstanding school in Southampton is seeking a passionate and expert Permanent Teacher of Geography to join our thriving Geography Department. This role will primarily focus on inspiring our Sixth Form students to excel in A-Level Geography and develop a deep understanding of the dynamic and interconnected world around us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and rigorous Geography lessons primarily to A-Level students, covering both physical and human aspects of the subject.
- Foster a deep and critical understanding of advanced geographical concepts, theories, and fieldwork methodologies.
- Contribute to the development and enrichment of the A-Level Geography curriculum within the Geography Department.
- Assess and monitor student progress at A-Level, providing expert guidance and support for their academic success and progression to higher education in geography and related fields.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Geography Department, sharing best practices in A-Level Geography teaching and assessment.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong degree in Geography or a closely related field.

- Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the A-Level Geography specification and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, specifically tailored to engaging and challenging Sixth Form students.
