Principal iOS Developer

Salary: 80,000-100,000

Location: Remote (Quarterly travel to Southampton)

We're looking for a Principal iOS Developer to lead the build of a cutting-edge healthtech app that uses computer vision and AI to measure vital signs through a smartphone camera. This role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and collaboration within a regulated medical software environment.



What You'll Do

  • Lead architecture and development of a high-performance iOS app.

  • Work within ISO 13485 / IEC 62304 processes and support product validation.

  • Mentor developers and raise engineering standards.

  • Collaborate with AI/ML, backend, product, and design teams.

  • Drive improvements across testing, automation, and release processes.



What You'll Bring

  • Expert-level Swift and strong SwiftUI/UIKit skills.

  • Experience with computer vision (Core Image, AVFoundation, Vision).

  • Deep understanding of multithreading, memory management, and performance optimisation.

  • Strong communication and ability to mentor others.

  • Background in regulated, healthtech, or real-time processing is a bonus.



Experience

  • 7+ years of iOS development, including 2+ years in a lead or principal role.

  • Proven delivery of high-quality production apps.
