GSL Education is delighted to be recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant for a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Southampton. The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional needs within the classroom and in small-group interventions. Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff, you will help create a positive, inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Providing targeted academic support to help students access the curriculum
  • Working one-on-one and with small groups to encourage engagement and participation
  • Assisting in the development of personalised learning strategies
  • Collaborating with the wider staff team and external professionals
