About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Southampton this September. You'll be working with students from Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, delivering a primary-style curriculum tailored to meet the diverse and complex needs of learners with Special Educational Needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for either a primary-trained or secondary-trained teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in a specialist setting. We warmly welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are eager to develop their skills within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including SENCOs, therapists, and support staff.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families and carers.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral support and enrichment activities.
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Primary or Secondary trained.
- Experience of, or a strong interest in, working with students with SEND (including ASC, MLD, SEMH, and complex needs).
- A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
