Food Technology Teacher – Secondary School (Totton, Southampton)
Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Maternity Cover (until July 2026)
Pay: £165 – £245 per day (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-Time, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Supply Desk is excited to be working with a welcoming secondary school near Totton, Southampton, who are seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their team from October 2025. This maternity cover will run until July 2026, teaching across KS3 and KS4.

You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive Design & Technology department, where creativity, practical learning, and inspiring students are at the heart of everything they do. Whether you’re an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced teacher, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Inspiring students to develop essential cooking skills, healthy eating habits, and a genuine love of food.

  • Tracking and supporting student progress with constructive feedback.

  • Playing an active role in curriculum development and the growth of the department.

  • Maintaining high standards for learning, behaviour, and achievement.

What We’re Looking For:
  • A degree in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or a related subject.

  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for inspiring students through Food Technology.
