A dynamic secondary school in Southampton is seeking a qualified and experienced Head of Maths to lead their department full-time from October half term. This is a key leadership role for someone with strong subject knowledge, strategic vision, and a passion for driving excellence in mathematics education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Maths department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Plan and develop a robust and engaging curriculum across key stages
- Oversee departmental marketing, including promoting subject engagement and uptake
- Support and mentor teaching staff, fostering professional growth
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies for improvement
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level
- Previous leadership or middle management experience
- Strong communication, organisational, and strategic planning skills
