I am recruiting for a Director of Corporate Services to lead across a Group’s corporate services. This role is pivotal in managing a large, complex estate, overseeing major infrastructure projects, and ensuring compliance and risk management. The successful candidate will be a visible and proactive leader, dedicated to keeping the Group safe, future-focused, compliant, and financially efficient through intelligent estate and service management.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Strategic and Operational Estates Leadership:Ā Develop and implement a comprehensive Group-wide Estates Strategy that aligns with educational, environmental, and financial goals.
  • Health & Safety Leadership:Ā Oversee the Group’s Health & Safety Strategy, ensuring all statutory obligations are met and promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Capital Investment and Infrastructure Management:Ā Manage the College Group’s Capital Plan and oversee infrastructure projects ensuring alignment with curriculum needs and sustainability goals.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Strategy:Ā Lead the delivery of the Sustainability Strategy, promoting innovations like IoT sensors and building management systems to achieve net-zero and climate resilience.
  • Commercial and Asset Development:Ā Direct commercial land sales and property development partnerships to ensure strategic alignment and maximise return on assets.
  • Procurement and Contract Management:Ā Lead strategic procurement ensuring robust contract frameworks and value for money.
  • Business Continuity and Resilience:Ā Develop and implement Business Continuity Planning to ensure operational resilience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications:Ā Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualification; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience:Ā Proven leadership in estates and facilities management across multi-site operations; strong track record in Health & Safety compliance; experience managing capital projects and knowledge of sustainability frameworks.
  • Skills:Ā Strategic planning, strong project management, ability to lead cross-functional teams, excellent communication, and financial acumen.
  • Personal Abilities:Ā Proactive and visible leadership style, ability to influence and drive cultural change, resilient and calm under pressure.
