Salary: £12.46 per hour
Hours: Full-Time (37 hours per week, on a rota between 8am and 9pm, Monday to Sunday)
Contract Type: Fixed-term (with potential for extension)

Are you passionate about supporting people facing homelessness? We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Worker to join our frontline team in Southend-on-Sea.
Our organisation supports over 1,000 people each year with housing, advice, and tailored services that help individuals rebuild their lives. In this vital role, you'll help residents settle into safe accommodation, develop essential life skills, and take meaningful steps toward independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a warm, trauma-informed welcome and ongoing support to new residents
Manage a caseload and develop personalised support plans based on individual needs
Support residents with physical and mental wellbeing, and facilitate access to appropriate healthcare services
Promote engagement with addiction recovery services and external specialist agencies
Encourage the development of independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, and maintaining hygiene
Assist with housing benefit claims, tenancy sustainment, and move-on plans
Conduct regular health and safety checks within the accommodation setting
Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays on a rota
What We're Looking For:
A calm, empathetic, and person-centred approach
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Good IT and record-keeping skills
Desirable: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care, Housing, or a related field
Desirable: Experience or understanding of homelessness, mental health, or substance misuse issues
