Midday Assistant Worker - Part-Time

Empowering Learning is seeking a number of Midday Assistant Workers to work in Primary and SEND Schools based in Southend-on-Sea, between the hours of 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. You will be responsible for overseeing the pupil's lunchtime meals and activities. This will include supporting children with eating their food if needed, coordinating activities outside, supervising their behaviour and assisting with personal care when needed.

Experience is not necessary as training will be given. Previous experience with children or adults with additional needs would be helpful. The schools support children with various learning difficulties and disabilities, so we are looking for candidates who are compassionate, patient and calm.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working as a Care Support Worker or Care Assistant would be helpful
  • Experience supporting young adults or children is desirable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week
  • Able to commit to hours between 11.30am - 1.30pm
  • Able to commit to 3-6 months
