You'll be the lead in the tax team and be responsible for managing both junior staff and the private client tax portfolio. You will work closely with clients, playing a key role in helping them realise their business and personal ambitions. This will be both advisory and compliance work.

You will manage the portfolio of private clients, trusts, and partnerships, delivering exceptional client service and producing work efficiently and effectively. The role includes providing comprehensive personal tax compliance and advisory services tailored to each client’s unique circumstances. Additionally, you will help train and supervise junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Managing annual tax returns for assigned clients
  • Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of clients
  • Handling a diverse range of personal tax assignments, including tax forecasting, residence and domicile considerations, capital gains tax, planning, and enquiry work
  • Addressing client issues and queries promptly
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients
  • Managing billing responsibilities for your portfolio of clients, trusts, and partnerships
  • Collaborating with the team to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations
  • Training and supervising junior staff
Requirements
  • Strong team mentality with the ability to work independently
  • Qualified Tax Advisor (ATT/CTA) or qualified by experience
  • Experience in a private client/personal tax environment in practice
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software and HMRC online services
  • Excellent organisational skills and experience managing a busy client portfolio
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident and adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive and determined attitude
  • Strong client service orientation
