We are a brand-new, independent restaurant in a stunning lakeside setting and were looking for a passionateSous Chefto play a key role in bringing our kitchen to life.

This is an exciting ground-floor opportunity to help build something special from day one. Youll work closely with the Head Chef and owner (also a chef) to develop a menu rooted in seasonal, local produce much of it grown or raised on the farm. Youll play a vital part in shaping the food offering, running services, mentoring junior staff, and upholding a high standard of quality and consistency.

  • Has solid experience in professional kitchens, ideally with some leadership or senior CDP experience
  • Believes in seasonal, sustainable cooking and low-waste practices
  • Works well under pressure and thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment
  • Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in consistency and presentation
  • Wants to help build something meaningful alongside like-minded chefs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
  • Assist in developing and delivering seasonal, cost-effective menus
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Lead services in the Head Chefs absence
  • Support with stock control, ordering, and waste management
  • Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff
  • Uphold all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
  • Contribute ideas and energy to a new, growing team

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a senior CDP or junior sous role
  • A passion for seasonal, sustainable food and thoughtful cooking
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A calm, positive approach to teamwork and service
