Safeguarding Officer

Reed are collaborating with a new client who are seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Casework Management: Handle new and existing cases, providing advice, information, and guidance on welfare and behavioural concerns.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments and manage safeguarding concerns or allegations.
  • Cathedral Support: Support staff during child or adult protection enquiries and facilitate the Safeguarding Management Group.
  • Training: Collaborate with the Safeguarding Training Manager to deliver safeguarding training in line with national programs.
  • Disclosure and Barring (DBS): Serve as the point of contact regarding any DBS queries and conduct risk assessments related to blemished DBS certificates.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: A relevant professional qualification (e.g., social work, health, teaching, law, police).
  • Experience: Significant experience in safeguarding and maintaining safeguarding records.
  • Skills: Ability to analyse complex situations, work constructively with various parties, and manage sensitive information.
  • Knowledge: Up-to-date with DBS processes, safeguarding legislation, and proficient in IT systems including spreadsheets and databases.
