About the Role
Long Term Futures are seeking a committed and adaptable English Tutor to join a well-regarded alternative provision in the heart of Nottingham. The setting supports students aged 11-16 through a tailored curriculum that combines core academics with practical, vocational learning.

You will work one-to-one with learners to support their English development, while also nurturing their personal, emotional, and social growth in a safe and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one English tuition to secondary-aged students

  • Modify lesson content to meet individual learning needs, including those with SEN or SEMH profiles

  • Monitor and record student progress, adapting approaches as needed

  • Help maintain a positive, supportive learning culture

  • Work closely with support staff and pastoral teams to ensure each learner receives consistent, well-rounded support

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience working with students with additional learning needs

  • Strong subject expertise and the ability to deliver lessons in a flexible, engaging way

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with learners

  • A genuine desire to support young people's educational and personal development
