JHE & Partners are excited to be working with a well established family firm as they look to hire an experienced Bookkeeper on a part time, permanent basis. This is a key role within the company and will work closely with the Managing Director. Recent experience in a similar role is essential, as this will be a varied and busy role, whilst offering the work-life balance of reduced hours. Ideally circa 24 hours per week, there is complete flexibility with regards to working patterns, however the successful candidate will need to be on site ideally.

Duties

  • Full responsibility for all company bookkeeping using Sage
  • Manage purchase ledger, including processing invoices and payments in a timely manner
  • Sales ledger and Credit Control
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT returns
  • Payroll for 24 full time employees
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and trial balance
  • Liaise with external accountant at year end
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
  • Excellent numerical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload efficiently
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members across the organisation
