We are actively recruiting for a Payroll Specialist / Payroll Manager job opportunity with an established accountancy firm based in Spalding. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level, so is open within reason. Please note this role is for full-time applicants only.
This is a crucial role, and we need someone who can hit the ground running — bringing a solid background in payroll processing, understanding compliance requirements, and managing deadlines with minimal training required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of payroll for a portfolio of clients – weekly, monthly, and annual submissions
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations
- Administer auto-enrolment pensions and handle related queries
- Liaise with clients directly on payroll matters and provide support as needed
- Process starters, leavers, statutory payments, and year-end returns
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a standalone payroll role, ideally within an accountancy or bureau setting
- Strong knowledge of current payroll legislation and HMRC compliance
- Ability to manage multiple client payrolls accurately and efficiently
- Experience with payroll software (e.g. Xero, Sage Payroll, or similar) – training will be provided on our systems if required
