Electrical Biased Overhead Crane Engineer | Northwest, Merseyside

Fox Morris Group is recruiting on behalf of our client, for an experienced Electrical Biased Overhead Crane Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of overhead cranes and lifting equipment across customer sites in the Northwest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
  • Perform routine service inspections in line with LOLER and company standards (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998)
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on motors, control panels, limit switches, sensors, and wiring systems
  • Support mechanical repair tasks where needed
  • Install and commission overhead crane systems when required
  • Provide breakdown response and emergency support for clients
  • Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation
  • Work safely at height and follow company & site health and safety policies
  • Represent Taurus Cranes & Hoists Ltd. professionally while working on customer sites

Requirements

  • Strong electrical background (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
  • Proven experience working on OVERHEAD cranes (essential)
  • Knowledge of crane control systems, motors, inverter drives, and hoists
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and fault-find efficiently
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Comfortable working at height and in industrial environments
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
